Someone used my IP address to download a single image of child pornography. There is nothing quite like hearing a knock at the door and finding a local police detective on the front steps to deliver this news. Aside from being horrified, I also feel violated. My internet is password protected but I will definitely be changing it. A police department tech person will be by in the next couple of days to check our electronic devices for this image. While I have nothing to hide, again, I feel a bit violated. Pardon me while I go throw up and take a hazmat shower.

- I was born in Colorado to a full-blooded Norwegian/American mother from North Dakota and a Cajun/Scottish father from Mississippi. Raised and educated in four states, eight public schools, and one liberal arts Lutheran college, I somehow ended up in South Dakota and was married to a mostly Dutch guy for twenty years. I then returned to Colorado for a seven year experiment living at high altitudes. I now call the Pacific Northwest home where I try to blend in with the natives driving my Subaru Outback and sporting hiking boots. I have two sons whom I adore beyond reason. The younger one lives with me and spends an inordinate amount of time on his computer creating video games and composing music. The elder one lives nearby with his amazing wife and their fluffy pup Gimli. I currently find myself without the companionship of a feline which feels odd to me. Yes, pretty creepy. The local PD is going about the investigation in a way I think is a bit non-standard. You can bet I'm not letting them back in the house without a search warrant.
