Dig Deep

Ah. A revelation before ten in the morning. It is apparent to me now that I have not dug deep enough for inspiration and subject matter as poetry writing fodder. The Writer's Almanac for today confirms this. I'm surprised that after raising two boys that I had never gone here before. How stimulating and reassuring that I still have room to grow artistically. The booger joke. A timeless classic.

Girls don't do "booger" jokes?!

REAL girls do not shy away from booger humor. They fart, too. I just hadn't thought of going there for writing ideas.

Now I'm confused. I was told that girls "poof" rather than fart. Are my sources unreliable?

I thought your mind was a good place to get ideas. Or possibly from cats.

Real girls fart, swear, sweat and make the first move. As far as I'm concerned, none of those traits detract from my femininity. They don't necessarily enhance it, but instead of waiting for when the "dating manners" wear off and reality sets in, I prefer to weed out the squeamish guys right up front.

My mind requires input and inspiration to come up with ideas although I often wonder where the hell some of them actually come from. Maybe I'm channeling the cats without realizing I am!
