Welcome to Broome, Texas. Population unknown. The entirety of the city is captured in the lower photo. My friend Erik was reminded of me when he passed through Broome on a road trip years ago. For those of you who do not know, Broome is my maiden name. And I have a town. In Texas. Drop by sometime.

- I was born in Colorado to a full-blooded Norwegian/American mother from North Dakota and a Cajun/Scottish father from Mississippi. Raised and educated in four states, eight public schools, and one liberal arts Lutheran college, I somehow ended up in South Dakota and was married to a mostly Dutch guy for twenty years. I then returned to Colorado for a seven year experiment living at high altitudes. I now call the Pacific Northwest home where I try to blend in with the natives driving my Subaru Outback and sporting hiking boots. I have two sons whom I adore beyond reason. The younger one lives with me and spends an inordinate amount of time on his computer creating video games and composing music. The elder one lives nearby with his amazing wife and their fluffy pup Gimli. I currently find myself without the companionship of a feline which feels odd to me. This is a picture from the 1970s. Its just a roofless brick structure now. Population is 11 and three dogs. My granddad owns the ranch.
It was taken in the late 70's! Thanks for the information!
