What is with this alternate pronunciation for thank you? Where did it come from? Particularly among young women, it is often pronounced thenk yeoh, with a slight uptick at the end as if it is a question. Making it a questionable expression of thanks at best. I can't say why, but this affectation annoys me to no end. Please stop it now. Thank you. I hope you heard that as THaNGk yo͞o. Because that is how I typed it.
