Someone used my IP address to download a single image of child pornography. There is nothing quite like hearing a knock at the door and finding a local police detective on the front steps to deliver this news. Aside from being horrified, I also feel violated. My internet is password protected but I will definitely be changing it. A police department tech person will be by in the next couple of days to check our electronic devices for this image. While I have nothing to hide, again, I feel a bit violated. Pardon me while I go throw up and take a hazmat shower.

Yes, pretty creepy. The local PD is going about the investigation in a way I think is a bit non-standard. You can bet I'm not letting them back in the house without a search warrant.
