I had a vision for this room just off the kitchen that was mostly accomplished soon after we moved in. I disliked the clunky, noisy ceiling fan that came with the house and recently replaced it with a sleeker, silent one. The paint color I love so much! For those of you who shy away from bright colors, this won't be your cup of tea, but for me, the pinker the better! I had four shades of pink left over from other painting projects and threw it together in a bucket and stirred. The result was this bright lavenderish mauve that I'll also use to paint the hallway to my bathroom, bedroom, and office.
The wall of souvenirs, photos, and collectibles. My hoya is happy to be back in here after three months in the dining room with not enough light to produce blooms. I also built a small wall section to close off access to the hall which makes my private space much quieter. On the other side is space for a linen closet that will be finished in the near future.
This is a room of light and beverages. The coffee bar has been in this spot since the beginning, but having a nicely painted wall rather than a hodgepodge of test colors behind it is a definite improvement.
The bar is open!
The new barstools tuck neatly under the counter and allow for better traffic flow out onto the deck. Off to the left is the kitchen which at this point is fully functional but still needs a lot of work. I will be delighted when the day arrives that I can post pics of it completed. A girl needs something to do over the winter to keep her out of trouble.
