Knitmaster Kneeded
This is it! The answer to my chair recovering dilemma in the living room! I need a chair sweater with a matching ottoman sweater! Yesssssss! But first I need an expert knitter. And a lotta yarn. A whole lotta yarn! Thanks to The Campaign for Wool for this photo and a way cool idea! Also thanks to LindaCo for posting this photo for me to admire. I wonder if she'd tackle such a project. Hmmm.
I saw and LOVED this! But, yes, this is hardly something one orders from an online catalog.
ReplyDeletePerhaps another thing I'll add to my list of things to do once I've managed to make the downstairs liveable. Among other things.
BTW, the veggie garden was a huge success this year ... finally. I like to count every small success, and try to look forward! And I so know that, in many ways, you understand.
None of my furniture will be wearing sweaters this winter but, dammit, I love the idea! : )
I can only knit straight rows, nothing fancy and verrrry, verrrrry slowly. Otherwise I'd give it a shot. It is a quite brilliant idea, though!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Ms. C., I can't seem to find enough time for my own craftiness.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this is a huge project. Maybe you could find some almost-matching thrift store sweaters and serge them together Katwise-style (http://katwise.com/).
Good suggestion, Ms. L. Or maybe I could go into the very extremely large sizes department and pick up one for the chair and one for the ottoman.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think you'd jump on the opportunity, but I had to ask! :-)
I'm also not very good at following up with comments *sigh*. Yes, you might find one biggie to cover an ottoman! Felting would be interesting, too. Lose any pattern, but more durable.
