Merlin and Arthur and Gwen, Oh My!

I know, for the rest of you who have cable tv you saw the end of the series last Christmas Eve. I had to wait until two weeks ago when the Merlin icon on my Netflix instant queue was emblazoned with the words New Episodes!. Then tore right through them without realizing that this was, indeed, the final season of the series. Sigh. Yes, I am a big fan of the Arthurian legend. I know how it ends. It's not pretty. But I wasn't quite ready for this to be over. Not yet, anyway. Isn't that how any love affair goes? I'll be fine. All 65 episodes are available for me to watch at my leisure. We'll always have Camelot.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a silly place.

(Couldn't help myself.)

This series popped up on my Netflix home page a few times, but I'm always so leery about each new writer/director's take on Merlin/Camelot lore, I hadn't checked it out yet. I'll have to steamroll through it this month, though, if you recommend it! :)

He likes to push the tram-a-lot!

I really enjoyed it!

Strikes a nice balance between hambone acting and really excellent character development. The evil ones are deliciously evil, the good ones a little clueless at times. And the special effects are quite remarkable, esp the dragon!

This legend is so juicy there will always be new takes on it. You're going to hate this Uther so very much!
