Happy birthday SPAM! Born in Austin, Minnesota in 1937, you are 75 years old! I have spelled you all in caps as Hormel Foods specifies this is the proper way to do things. I cannot remember the last time a can of SPAM graced the shelves of my pantry. Neither can I predict when this may possibly happen in the future. One thing's for sure, I really don't think it's necessary to shout. Please, SPAM, use your inside voice.

- I was born in Colorado to a full-blooded Norwegian/American mother from North Dakota and a Cajun/Scottish father from Mississippi. Raised and educated in four states, eight public schools, and one liberal arts Lutheran college, I somehow ended up in South Dakota and was married to a mostly Dutch guy for twenty years. I then returned to Colorado for a seven year experiment living at high altitudes. I now call the Pacific Northwest home where I try to blend in with the natives driving my Subaru Outback and sporting hiking boots. I have two sons whom I adore beyond reason. The younger one lives with me and spends an inordinate amount of time on his computer creating video games and composing music. The elder one lives nearby with his amazing wife and their fluffy pup Gimli. I currently find myself without the companionship of a feline which feels odd to me.
