- I was born in Colorado to a full-blooded Norwegian/American mother from North Dakota and a Cajun/Scottish father from Mississippi. Raised and educated in four states, eight public schools, and one liberal arts Lutheran college, I somehow ended up in South Dakota and was married to a mostly Dutch guy for twenty years. I then returned to Colorado for a seven year experiment living at high altitudes. I now call the Pacific Northwest home where I try to blend in with the natives driving my Subaru Outback and sporting hiking boots. I have two sons whom I adore beyond reason. The younger one lives with me and spends an inordinate amount of time on his computer creating video games and composing music. The elder one lives nearby with his amazing wife and their fluffy pup Gimli. I currently find myself without the companionship of a feline which feels odd to me. You may be "gushing" a bit. He is,after all, only another politician, albeit an intelligent, educated, well-spoken one. He will lie and lie and lie and lie. Welcome to America. By the way, I'm not in the least bit cynical, it's just that I've had too much exposure to these people in a previous life experience (job) and learned too much. Really.
I AM gushing, Ed! And we've all been lied to. And we're all lucky to have survived the last eight years. This is the first time I've felt hopeful about the political atmosphere since I voted (for the first time) for Jimmy Carter in 1976. Maybe the time of miracles is upon us and it's been so long since we've experienced one we've forgotten how to receive it. I'm willing to give this guy a chance.
