- I was born in Colorado to a full-blooded Norwegian/American mother from North Dakota and a Cajun/Scottish father from Mississippi. Raised and educated in four states, eight public schools, and one liberal arts Lutheran college, I somehow ended up in South Dakota and was married to a mostly Dutch guy for twenty years. I then returned to Colorado for a seven year experiment living at high altitudes. I now call the Pacific Northwest home where I try to blend in with the natives driving my Subaru Outback and sporting hiking boots. I have two sons whom I adore beyond reason. The younger one lives with me and spends an inordinate amount of time on his computer creating video games and composing music. The elder one lives nearby with his amazing wife and their fluffy pup Gimli. I currently find myself without the companionship of a feline which feels odd to me. I totally get it. And second your motion. Show, don't tell.
I knew la Guera would get it! Ed, what I meant was I had a coffee date with this guy who kept telling me what a marvelous, edgy, amazing sense of humor he possesses. Yet I didn't crack a genuine smile through the duration of our get-together. And I'm quite easily amused! Absolutely, show rather than tell.
Aha! A little background does help one determine what course to take. If it don't go, chrome it.
